HANDS ON – THE ART OF CRAFTING May 19, 2015

Most people that know me, know that I have a hard time keeping my hands or mind still for a very long time. I always get weirdly excited to try out the next new thing when it comes to be creative with my hands. I LIKE everything. FACT! It doesn’t matter if it is painting on driftwood, sewing monsters, creating felt accessories, crocheting leg warmer (I do have to admit that I didn’t really finished them, I stopped after the first half one, and decided that I want to start another project – and now that my cat Garfield has found the ball of wool, even the half finished leg warmer can’t really be called half anymore), making pom pom buntings, design a home ware collection, work with soldering irons or handcraft leather wallets. I draw a lot of inspiration out of these projects, and my work as a graphic designer (as well as family, close friends, friends and on occasion my cat – I just built her the most amaaaazing little cat tipi, not that she really uses it, but hell I love it!) benefits from it. For me it is a treat to step away from the computer for a while and get my hands on to the next awesome thing. What will be next you ask? Oh boy, I think a hand carved leather guitar strap will be in the cards and I would really, really, really love to do a jewellery workshop. Watch this space folks… x
